📢 Important Community Update – Cable Service Notice
Good morning, residents.
We want to make everyone aware of an important change regarding the cable line access in our development.
🔹 Background
Currently, there are 73 residents who do not pay the $49 basic cable fee to Berkshire Greens and only use the cable line for internet access.
Berkshire Greens / Mr. Whitman has reversed their 2019 decision to not charge those using the cable line for internet/phone only.
They have mailed notices stating that cable lines will be disconnected for non-payment 30 days from notification (dated 11/17).
🔹 Board Meeting Recap
During last night’s budget meeting, attended by Chase Whitman, the Board had an extensive conversation regarding this matter.
We informed Berkshire Greens / Mr. Whitman that:
-
We will be exploring options to remove their involvement entirely in the delivery of cable services to our development.
-
We will be requesting estimates from Service Electric and other cable/internet providers as potential replacements.
We also requested that Berkshire Greens / Mr. Whitman consider offering a reduced rate to those who use the cable line for internet service only.
🔹 Recommended Resident Action
As mentioned previously, the best long-term solution may be to transition away from using the current cable line entirely.
We encourage residents to check with their wireless providers regarding internet options.
AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon all offer Wi-Fi access either through cellular hotspots or plug-in internet tower units, which may provide faster and more reliable service than the existing cable connection.
📌 We will keep everyone updated
Please continue to watch for future announcements as we gather quotes and explore service options that best support our community.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
